Friendly people! Worth the wait! Very considerate customers at the bar. Really nice friendly people. You have to make a reservation because The club needs to screen those who come in So they have safe costumers . It's just what it is. Help this business do well!

Elephante! I got a bone to pick wit y'all! This place is great, love the atmosphere, the food is delicious, the reason I gotta exchange words is because I SWEAR the whipped eggplant used to be a bigger portion! We got our plate and jaws hit the floor we were like where's the rest of the whipped eggplant! Hahaha Anyway, we were bugging because we LOVE IT and wanted more hahaha The food here is delectable, steak is awesome, the brussel sprouts is delicious. We've tried recreating a handful of their recipes at home, never comes out the same but says a lot considering we try and emulate it! The outdoor seating, with like, the tiny log tables, doesn't work y'all. Please. I understand you're trying to make the most out of a small space but truly it does not work! Maybe for like JUST people drinking but for food!?? Nothing fits on there, it had to be said. Now, the door people can be kind of snooty and on a power trip which can be annoying. Service is also like, just eh. Drinks are pretty good, what I will say is - one time I was on a sobriety health kick, I'd gone maybe like 3 months or something at the time without drinking. This was due to personal choice, not because I was pregnant and not because I'm in recovery of sorts; nothing like that, but nonetheless I had ordered a mocktail. I very specifically asked for non alcoholic and the drink was also from their non alcoholic menu section. I was about half way through the drink when I realized I was fully getting a buzz on... I had my fiance and his mom test the drink out and yep it had alcohol in it. Now by this point I'm like whatever I'll just finish it, no big deal. HOWEVER, if you ARE someone who's expecting, or who is recovering, or just someone who doesn't want alcohol, maybe double/triple check it truly is non alcoholic if you're ordering. I didn't say anything to the staff at the time, again for me didn't really matter. But flagging for others if important. Anytime we've sat we've never really had a view, maybe of like other buildings lmao but apparently on the other side with the open indoor/outdoor seating has a bit of a view. There's parking structures around Samo, and also meter parking so y'all got options. Overall, delicious and unique food which is what I'd continue going here for. Pricing can be a bit on the higher side for some, comes close to $200 for 2 people or so. we come when we feelin like treating ourselves a lil.

Super vibey spot with delicious Italian food and drinks! Ambiance & Service: Trendy, modern interior. Be sure to make a reservation and request the Sunset Room! Though we were seated a bit late, the great table made up for it. Attentive service and quick food delivery. Food & Drink: - The Élephante (gin + passionfruit) - refreshing with a nice kick. - Whipped Eggplant - must-try app, creamy and perfect with hot pita. - Cacio e Pepe pizza - simple but delicious. - Vodka Sauce pasta - creamy with a hint of spice, absolutely amazing. TL;DR: Trendy vibe, great food, must-try whipped eggplant, and delicious vodka sauce pasta.

This place is a great date spot! It's Italian based food and on the pricier end, but you get what you pay for. It's relatively dark inside but that's what makes it more intimate. The decorations inside are nice! You enter through the first floor and take an elevator up to the third floor. Make sure you make reservations otherwise they won't let you in. As for parking, there is metered street parking or a lot that connects to the restaurant. There is valet parking as well. BE AWARE! there is this automatically added tax they add onto the bill to help with their sustainability initiative. They don't tell you about it unless you ask (it's posted on the menu). You can ask them to remove it, which I did. It's .05% of the bill. I didn't agree with this because it's like the restaurant automatically rounds up for charity without them asking you if you want. Other than the round up on sustainability, it is good. I'd recommend the vodka pasta, eggplant dip, and sopressata pizza!

Elephante is an absolute gem in Santa Monica! Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a fun night out with friends, this spot hits all the right notes. First off, the view is simply stunning. Perched above the city with an unobstructed view of the ocean, it's the perfect backdrop for a laid-back yet elevated dining experience. The rooftop setting, paired with gorgeous sunsets, adds a magical vibe to the overall atmosphere. The vibe here is fantastic--modern, chic, and welcoming. It has a lively, upbeat energy, making it perfect for gathering with friends. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just grabbing drinks, Elephante has an ambiance that's both trendy and relaxed. The decor is beautifully done, with lots of wood, neutral tones, and greenery that make the space feel airy and comfortable. As for food it does not disappoint! I had the lobster pasta, and it was truly phenomenal--rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The dish had the right balance of fresh lobster and a deliciously creamy sauce, making every bite an indulgence. We also tried a few other dishes, and everything was spot on. The menu is creative without being pretentious, offering a mix of Italian-inspired plates with a California twist. The staff was another highlight. Our server was super friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which really added to the overall positive experience. Even though the place was packed, the service was efficient and smooth. In summary, Elephante is a fantastic spot with an unbeatable location, great vibes, and delicious food. It's perfect for a casual gathering with friends or even a romantic evening, thanks to its stylish setting and the amazing views. I'll definitely be coming back soon!

A beautiful restaurant in Santa Monica area that overlooks the water. From ground level they have valet which was extremely slow when we went on a Sunday. We made a reservation as we had a larger party of 7-8 and was able to get in quickly. By the time we left there was a long wait, so if you want to come here on a weekend definitely make a res! Once you go up the stairs there's many tables and bar seating. If you're here on a date definitely try to be seated by the outside as you get a great view of the beach! The food was great here - definitely get the whipped eggplant as an appetizer and potatoes as the sides. The pastas and pizzas were all good, not the best I've ever had but still good. Cocktails were all great also. Only complaint was service was ok- our server wasn't the friendliest but hard to expect that from a busy LA restaurant. Would still come back when I'm back in town!

The view was lovely -preferred eating outdoors to be able to socialize with my friend; indoors was a little loud for conversation. The food and cocktails were delicious and shareable. Be careful where you park my car was literally in the process of getting towed when I came out and luckily my friend was quicker on her feet to make some negotiations to pay less!
